Sleep Preparation is the session for the night your body is tired but your mind didn’t get the memo. Instead of asking you to “clear your mind,” it walks you down in stages — first slowing the breath, then drawing attention out of the head and into the body, then settling into stillness deep enough that sleep can take over.
It’s built to be taken in bed, lights low, earbuds in. The body-scan stage is particularly useful for a restless mind: turning attention to physical sensation pulls it away from the thought loops, giving it something neutral and present to follow until wakefulness loosens its hold. Most sailors don’t hear the ending — that’s the point.
Take it when the day won’t let go: looping thoughts at midnight, an early alarm you’re already dreading, or jet lag that has your body clock somewhere over the ocean.
